It Takes Two to Talk®

BubbleBee is happy to announce that we will be running the It Takes Two to Talk® program for parents. Parents and family members are the most important people in a child's life as children spend most of their time with their family and hence learn many skills from them. Through observation and imitation, daily interactions and a variety of everyday routines, children learn how to communicate and relate to others.

It Takes Two to Talk® is a family-focused program that trains parents on how to create and take advantage of everyday opportunities to promote their child's communication and language development. The unique program was developed by The Hanen Centre (www.hanen.org) and is offered to parents only by a Hanen Certified Speech – Language Therapist who has received specialized training from The Hanen Centre.

Dear Parent! If you participate in the program, you will learn to communicate with your child in a way that will be enjoyable for both of you. You will be able to identify how your child currently communicates and what the next steps are. You will also learn to recognize how your child learns and what motivates him/her to communicate. Furthermore, you will be able to practise these skills in a variety of activities.

BubbleBee's Speech Therapist, Sheryl Lau, is fully trained and certified in the It Takes Two To Talk® The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays. She will be conducting a short presentation on the It Takes Two to Talk® program which includes its benefits for your family, skills that will be learnt during the course and the use of group classes and individual videotaping sessions. She will also be answering any questions you might have pertaining to the course so that you as a parent will have a clearer understanding of the program.
